Black Wine

Walter Murphy's 'Afternoon of a Faun' was the track Moodyman cunningly sampled for his unmissable 'Black Mahogany', on it's own this symphonic, laid back and a little bit rare disco item is a beautiful string laden affair that verges on Muzak in parts. It's fascinating to hear how Mr Kenny Dixon Jnr plucks little pieces, the money moments, from this otherwise pastoral delight and turns them into what i consider to be one of his greatest tracks.

By the way, did you know it's apparently based on a Debussy piece - Prelude to Afternoon of a Faun? Never heard it, but would be interested to have a listen...
