Don't Kill The Robot

Methusalem, an 80's Krautrock & Disco outfit did one album as far as I can tell, called 'Journey Into The Unknown'. Two tracks from this German, 1980, release on Ariola have found themselves being resurrected and given the re-rub; most recently their track 'Zombie' found it's way onto the very cool Supersound label (a brilliant bunch who pushed out no less than 20 fantastic cosmic and disco, limited edition items last year.) Today's post however is the Automan re-edit of Methusalem's proto house track 'Robotism' off the 10th 12" in the Automan series. 'Cosmic' and House meet here in perfect harmony, along with a great bumpy groove and some creamy 'robotic' vocoders. Innovative tracks like this make it plainly obvious where House music went wrong in recent years.
