still got love 4 music

Chicago label Still Music puts out quality House music, quiet a lot of which has been really good, but I get into a minor state about their edit offshoot Stilove4music, every one of the 9 odd releases are worth time spend hunting them down. Trusme, another Manchester based producer has had 2 incredible releases on the label, including 'Nards', a dance floor classic which would give Moodyman a run for his money. If you scratch around for a copy of the 4th release in the catalogue you'll find a brilliant Theo/Kenny type rework of Archie Shepp's 'Mozambique'. It's more than a simple rework as Shepp's spiritual jazz is played out deeply embedded in this Detroity, cut up, designed for headz, builder, interestingly the excellent production on this item goes uncredited. Intense and beautiful.

Archie Shepp - Mozambique (Stilove4music Edit)

Just had a little taster for Trusme's forthcoming EP on Fat City. Heavy. Again I love the original of this more than the edit. God I'm an old fart.

nah you're not an old fart. the original is seriously wonderful. I love this though, a brilliant mix of the original and something else original, also i think this is more likely to have dancers grooving!!! unless they're really open minded ;)

You know what is proper? The new Wajeed 12". Some seriously heavy beats on there for when you want the dancers to get their heads down and boogie. I only discovered Johnny Bristol - Love Has Got A Hold On Me today and it's going to staple in my erection section for years to come that and The Nextmen - Tuffen Up, which is as 'whisper it' balearic as they come. D-O-P-E!!
