cut/copy/paste/edit/delete(d)

Quiet Village's 'Can't Be Beat' quiet literally can't be beat. For those of you who don't know this slice of Slo Mo perfection, which came out on NY label Whatever We Want, it's absolutely essential. The track makes heavy use of 'The Days Of Pearly Spencer' by Trademark, in fact it's been argued 'Cant Be Beat' is really just a very cool, clever and consummate edit. Actually Quiet Village (aka Matt Edwards & Joel Martin) do this edit thing on a whole other level, it's an Art really, like taking found objects, in this case a record, and doing something special with it, thoughtfully replaying it for u with a new perspective. Ultimately the track doesn't come off sounding arty at all though, it's simply beautiful and deserves the high regard it has gotten. Of course it's totally Balearic too and ideal for being swept away from the daily grind or the controversy this old copy/paste idea has caused on some forums. here it is then....

Really like this track. Most of the stuff I have heard from QVP has been good in fact. Have you heard the remix they did for COsmo Vitelli recently?
