Right Now!

David Mancuso, Nicky Siano, Larry Levan, Danny Krivit and Walter Gibbons all loved and often played this track, helping to turn it into one of those special anthems you'd hear in New York nightclubs in the 70's. Sometime early on in the 80's Mr Krivit did an edit of the track, re-popularizing it for a newer audience. Recently the very excellent Soul Jazz Records has brought 'em back again with a lovely collection of 16 of their tracks, most of which are awesome, as well as very rare, including the very special 'Give Me Your Love'. The collection is essential for fans of Funk, Soul & early Disco, containing some tracks that fetch major money on e-bay. I know I said I'd stop posting 'love' themed Disco tracks, but u know I couldn't quit the run without including this solid gold bit of magic. The Sisters soaring harmonies & lyrics on this track impart a deep yearn which I can totally relate to tonight, on any other night I'd just be moving along to it's uplifting groove. You get the Danny Krivit Edit, if u haven't already got it.

Note: 4866 downloads when i checked this morning - wow! - can that be true? People are obviously passing the link around, actually i thought for sure, everyone had this track already. It sure is a good one.

You can have a copy of the track and still want another one. Absolute class.

This sure is a beauty - nice post! It's actually a cover. Curtis Mayfield did the original - it's on Superfly - and Todd Terje did an edit of that not long ago with a reworked version of Paul Simon's Diamonds on the soles of her shoes on the flip. Worth getting hold of...
Great stuff as always - cheers, Chris!
