Time Waisters Unite for a Nap

If you come here a lot then you'll probably have realised we really like Danny Krivit's edits quiet a lot around these parts and have been running a series of posts focusing on some of his better moments. Well here's another one that's really cool of Younghearts 'Do You Have The Time' which Supreme Records (sometimes home to Tod Terje) re-released in mid 2005 (in fact it was their first release). Formed in LA in 1961, while they were still in school (interestingly they attended the same school at the same time as The Beach Boys), Younghearts were mainly a 'raw harmony' group. It wasn't until the early 70's that this particular gem was released on 20th Century Records when the band ventured into the sweeter end of soul music and maybe highlighted instrumentation a bit more. Mr K's edit stretches out this languid, mellow & melodic warning about waisting time, re-creating it as an epic late summer afternoon tune with a message.
