Cosmic Sea
An ANOE reader pointed out that the Rune Lindbaek track 'Ok, Kjør Romskip', which I posted earlier is a re-edit of Mystic Moods Orchestra's 'Cosmic Sea', so I did a little hunting around and found i had an mp3 of it on a disc of really great stuff I'd been given to listen to, but hadn't found time to actually check out. I am fully aware that Rune is big on creating edits out of obscure stuff (though not everything he uses is lesser known) and while some people on the DJ History forum moan about the material not being really original, I find the argument a little lame given the level of creativity put into touching up the tracks. I wouldn't normally post an original to highlight exactly how much work goes into these things, but as it turns out I really like this version also and it is rather different to Rune's reworking. Thanks Joe for the heads up...

Thanks for posting this! After posting that comment yesterday I was thinking I should track down an mp3 of the original... my copies of the LP are in storage.
Personally I don't see how anyone can get too worked up over the re-use of older tunes, whether as samples or edits. It's been a continuous part of dance music since the '70s, and if anything the standards are higher now than they've ever been!

Chris,
I can't believe that you're not playing at either of the Darshan shows. Fucking travesty. Did you see who they booked? Clueless.
Hey Marc, it is a travesty :) basically the organisers, who know me very well, havent been paying attention to the gigs I spin at and I don't do shameless self promotion ..which maybe doesn't help. Can' wait to check him out tho... and yeah some of that line up????
thats meant to be cant wait!!! he's doing a sort of low key gig at Fuel also...
