Allsgood in Space
Canadian Dj & Producer Andrew Allsgood recently put out this fantastic track on Steve Yanko's rather excellent Truffle label. 'Disco Pigs in Space' is jammed with all kinds of spacey, dubby fx, played out over a hot inviting bass line, the kind that pulls you away from the bar onto the dance floor without u realising it. It has something of the Idjuts about it, channeling a little Arthur Russell, along with Andrews own particular, inventive & hypnotic groove. The 12" comes with two great remixes, one from Brennan Green and another from Steve Yanko, both are very playable, but the one to have is the original mix which Andrew has very kindly given to me to hand over to you - support this talent and go buy this at once if you like it. Truffle is a really worthy label too, keep your eyes wide open for their 12"s, there are a number of delicious, smoked up and spaced out underground monsters on them, not all of which are Disco. Mr Allsgood has been making people groove since around 1996, having held down some major residency's in Toronto and it may please you to know that this beat conductor will be handing over an exclusive mix for A.N.O.E.'s Press Play series in the next while. It pleases me, no end.
