The Fog

Darshan Jesrani was recently in South Africa, as he was invited to play at one of our festivals here (um not that there are many), people seem to have responded well, there are certainly pockets of left field dancers out here (yeah Darshan would have to be considered left field or underground in these parts), but I wondered how his Disco roots and Italo stuff would go down. I've seen and danced in seriously empty spaces with very talented imported dj's like Rainer Truby spinning before, but apparently Darshan was shown some love. I sadly missed it! Ok diatribe over... More importantly, have you heard his current remix of The Green Men's 'The Fog'? Well I'd venture to say you need this badly. Nick Chacona & Sasse's original is pretty cool, but Darshan takes it all the way back, mixing touches of Disco with an early Chicago House & Italo feel. It's out on Mood Music (Sasse's rather good label) and is destined for classic status. Essential!! Go buy it!!!!

I just thought of posting a track of this excellent EP. It took me a few listens to get into it, since it wasn't Chacona's typical nu disco / house sound, but I enjoy all the tracks a little more with every listen. Slightly dislocated and beautiful!
