Viva Sub Club Viva

I got a mail yesterday from Sub Club co conspirator Harri, a dj who I have long held much respect for, his Subculture mixed cd still gets played around these parts and he's known the world over for his quality sets. Harri's name is synonymous with the deep stuff; good, deep, often disco inflected House. I can't hear say... Swag, or Dominic Dawson or Rob Mello, or Deep Sensation without thinking of Harri and of course his own productions, and as part of the Papa Washington Trio... Remember those tracks on Paper Recordings? Anyway Harri send me a link to a Disco heavy mix he did, not two weeks ago, it's packed with solid party goodies!!!! Harri mentioned I could share it with you all, only it's up for another 10 days (or 120 downloads) then its done, so I suggest u get downloading right now.... do not pass on this heavyweight Glaswegian Disco summer party mix.

Do you have a tracklist for that mix?

Actually, just two tracks in mind: The first one and the one that comes in around 67 min. and goes out at 71 min. I heard Prins Thomas play it when he came to Japan last year..very deep track with excellent vocals.

I've asked Harri if he's got a listing - I'll let you know if he can send me one, in the meantime - enjoy!!!!

Cheers for this, it's been a while since I've been to the SubClub, actually it was the first club I ever went to when I was just 17 and still remains my fave place. Too many good nights to mention, from Juan Atkins to Jurassic 5.

Hey Crybo, long time no speak, sadly I have never been, it's on a long list of clubs I wish I could go check out - maybe I'll do a world tour!!

Good idea, put me on the guest-list.

SFB> 67 minutes is Cultural Vibe - Ma Foom Bey, you can get it off the Playgroup DJ Kicks LP or on any of the re-issues, shouldn't cost too much. The first one is driving me nuts, I know what it is and it's on the tip of my tongue and I know I've played it loads this year but my records are in transit and I can't go through them to double check. When my brain kicks in I'll let you know. Sorry not much help I know.

Thanks for the tracklist! I'm going to start off with some deep disco next week, so I'm building a little collection for the event.

doh!!! Allen Parsons - hey Marc, how did we not guess that...

Yeah massive doh! In our defence it is on those PSKI releases with just the stamp on them. Feeble excuse but I'm sticking with it.
