rack'em exhalt/underground ///

Danny Red Rack'em has been putting out a steady flow of top class releases for some time now; you already know he's been championed by Gilles Peterson, Carl Craig, Greg Wilson and a host of other luminaries who's musical interests cross the same deep and wide range that Danny's releases do. If you don't know him already, do a quick search of anoe above to find interviews, reviews and mixes galore.

Rackem's latest release on ///Shift Music has already gotten support from a bunch of good people like Jazzanova, Ewan Pearson, Laurent Garnier, Richard Sen, Still Going, & Jacques Renault of Runaway fame and for good reason too. 'Exhalt' on the b-side is probably the one I like the most, with it's exquisite deep space, inner vision; like a lot of Danny's House productions there is a definite nod to the best of Detroit's electronic pioneers, but his agility and unique approach create a very individual, even fresh result. I've said it before, Danny makes really deep records; both sides of the ///Shift release explore known territories, but their soulful depth makes them unusual and very desirable. Give 'Exhalt' below a listen and see if you concur...

As is almost always the case with this pirate, there is a bunch of releases upcoming (including albums for his Marlinspike and Hot Coins projects and also an 'early years' Red Rack'em CD), but perhaps the most important will be his first release (out some time in September), for his own label Bergerac. I for one am very keen to hear what he comes up with for this House based platform. Check here or here to keep up...

Rack'em is pretty media savvy and knows you'd love a download with all that reading, so he's giving you a 320k of one of his previously released Hot Coins Disco Edits. Grab his excellent re-fix of Lakeside's 'Fantastic Voyage' and look sharp as there may be another freebie edit of distinction to follow soon...
