come closer

Swedish songbird Doris (Svensson) released an album in 1970 called 'Did You Give The World Some Love Today?', the Gothenburg blonde's silky tones cover a range of sounds from Jazz to Folk to Rock, but "You Never Come Closer' is the ideal follow on item to the psyche Pawnshop track below. The album was re-issued on CD in the 90's and the vinyl pops up on the net occasionally. A sunday night soft psyche gem for you then...

Doris is one of the coolest swedish acts from that time and she had some really cool musicians on the album like the drummer Janne "Loffe" Karlsson who also played on Pugh's album "Ja, dä ä dä!" and played in the really cool band "Hansson & Karlsson". Well worth checking out if you for some reason haven't discovered them yet.

Dave! thanks for the heads up I will check those out for sure. The musicianship on this Doris album is fantastic. I definitely need to hear more... Is it easy to find this Doris album in Sweden?

I wouldn't say easy, but it shows up from time to time.
