Lady Angie
Plotting the course of an unusual diggers delight and it's (re) rise to cult status is certainly easier these days, what with the worldwide wonder web. For example when RA's Dave Stenton played Dan Tyler and Conrad McDonnell (aka The Idjut Boys) Andy Nelson's 'Lady Angie' for an interview with them some time last year, the track peaked the interest of The Idjuts along with thousands of readers. I certainly wanted to hear it, especially as the Dub Disco fiends expressed some joy when hearing it. So from a friend of Dave's who had pointed out the 1982 Carrere single to him, to Ra's audience, this track has rightly been re-ignited, it followed with some press on a few blogs too. The track has a very similar chord progression to The Alan Parsons Project's 'Voyager' but with a bunch of other 'big ideas' sown in and it turns out to be a JP Massiera production too, which would account for it's quality, the mixed up vibe and the super crazy price tag for the original 12". Kinda sorta French Boogie on a Sunday... long may it continue to rise...

the b-side is far better in my opinion (Bionic Eyes). Heavily played by Dâm Funk.
