Press Play#16 - Hardway Bros.

Hardway Bros bring it with fresh and deep Techno, Disco & quality House gear for Press Play #16. It includes two heavyweight original item's from the man himself which should surface pretty soon on Luna Flicks; 'Acid Trak' is massive (watch the dancers go off!!!) and 'Deutsche Trak' is proper late night Techno for big sound systems. Sean, as he is known to his mum, recently graced the decks at the launch of Andrew Weatherall's 'Watch the Ride' album, which says a little something about his style, though I would venture to say Mr Hardway isn't that easy to categorize. Of course you may already be familiar with Sean's take on things via Trackwerk or from his edits (some of which have featured on these very pages) and there are the rumours of his involvement in that Beard Science lot... If you're in the area, Hardway will be dropping in at TAPE (Bristol), in November, alongside Techno Dub man Sven Weisemann.

'Night Bus To Dalston' is very much a considered journey into early hours basement terrain and is as much a head trip as it is crafted for dancing. Deep tunnels of light!! Get it on the sidebar or here.

Oh and a massive thankyou to Sean for this future classic!!

52 b's

As u may well be aware, ANOE love's a bit of an edit, ANOE also loves a bit of Hardway Bros ( a rising star on the edit scene). Here the man hooks up with Balearik Soul (there's a mix of his in our Press Play series) and gets busy on the B52's genius 'Planet Claire'. They've done a great job on it too, kinda teasing you with that bit, you know the thrilling wailing bit, giving it the introduction it surely deserves. They've also dropped the vocals, added in some great (very Hardway Bros) beats and some extra fidgety sounds. I have a sneaking suspicion you'll be seeing this all over blogdom in the next few days and hopefully hearing it out on more adventurous floors too.. Hot Lava indeed...

Balaerik Soul Brothers Meet The B52's Uptown

Note: I must apologise for things having been a bit slow around here of late, it's that time of the year where my work just goes crazy busy and as a result I really haven't had all that much time to keep you on your toes... I'm hoping tonight's bumper posts, go some way to make up for it

Oceans the Hardway

More Hardway Bros action here and edit of the month to these ears. This young producer does a killer job of updating Pierro Fidelfatti's 80's song 'Oceans', I hadn't heard the original until it popped up in a mystery mix on DJH from a little while back, by this very dj/producer, now he's worked it into a sure fire, old skool, underground dancefloor hit. You can hear it on his latest mix over at Trackwerk, home to some really great mixes from a crew who really know their music. But thanks to the kindness of the talent behind this wonderful thing, you can get your hungry hands on it right here, right now... Once again, Hardway Bros is a name to watch, the War of the Worlds edit, posted a little way down the page, has rightfully already created some good attention, this should bring the heat up even furthur....

The Heat Ray

Here's something very very special, this mystery man has done an exceptional edit of 'Horsell Common' & 'The Heat Ray' from Jeff Wayne's 'War of the Worlds' with added drums, fx and found sounds. It's a truly fantastic, cosmic, complex & deeply hypnotic epic piece of work which I'm delighted to be able to hand over to you. Do not skip this!! The beard's amongst you should love it...
