Vocoders for You

Off his 1978 album 'Sunlight', Herbie Hancock hit big in the uk with his vocoder driven, jazzy Disco Pop track 'I Thought It Was You', a masterpiece as far as I am concerned, with elements that remain timeless and innovative even today. Apparently critics didn't like it much, but it just goes to show that critics are all too often wrong, this track is unquestionably a righteous groover and rates as one of the coolest songs ever. I say that a lot don't I?

I tried to get someone to talk to me about "Feets Don't Fail Me Now" from 1979 I believe, but no luck. It was also critically bashed, but I'm thinking I'll probably love it as it seems to knocked for being his most disco-fied album. Sounds like perfection to me. If it's still at the used shop next time I'm there, I think I'll pick it up. Either of you heard it?

Matt - get it man, I haven't heard it, but I have read similar things about it as I have about 'Sunshine'. Herbie is all class man.

Thanks for coming up with the goods again! I'd tracked down 3 tracks from this album from various places and enjoyed them, and you've posted a new one to me. I think the title track gets my vote so far.
