redhead

I've never been a huge fan of Abba, which for a Discohead is probably akin to sacrilege. I feel the same way about many of those other iconic 70's cheese 'n chart fests. But there is a track by Frida which gets me every time (not that its Disco); 'I See Red' was a single off her 1982 album 'Something's Going On', the one with that really horrid pencil drawing of her on the cover. I rediscovered it a couple of years ago and to be honest, there isn't a weekend that goes by when I don't play it. It sounds like it could do with a hearty beardy edit, but in fact it's more Cole Medina than his first big edit. OK, I'm exaggerating, but i love it and it's sounds fresher today than it did then... damn that's one of my secret weapons done!

It's the over-the-top mixed drums by Phil Collins that really gives this track that extra space and flow.

It's been a club classic here in Sweden for a few years now since we discovered our own backyard of disco. But thanks for sharing the love Chris.

Yeah, when those records keep staring at you from the crates long enough you'll eventually pick them up just out of pity or boredom.

I heard a rumour that Baldelli used to play this, but then again that's been said about way too many records now to still have credibility.

i remember when it was released, my brother loved it, the video was absurd in an 80's way, though we were kids and thought it was cool. :)
i actually remember hating the song, maybe cos my brother liked it?? so when i found it again, i was sure it would be rubbish and was really surprised by how great it is...

too right about the 'baldelli played this' sticker.. same with Harvey, and all the others
