Not Just a Wallflower

Max Cole's album 'Star Charts' is one of those instant deep space soul classics that is simply unmissable if u go in for that sort of thing. Lots of spacey keys, awesome hooks and Max's incredibley smooth voice too. If u don't know his stuff check out the album opener 'Wallflowerin', you'll get where others try for coolness, Max just has it in truck loads. The entire album is brilliant, i haven't heard a weak track on it and it's way up there with the years best. Those of u who dont know him and actually do go out and buy music, drop some cash on it, u wont regret it. It's available on the consistently good Wah Wah 45 (I mean if you know this label, you'll also know it can only be gold). Head nodding space funk with slippery keys and live instrumentation makes this sh*t life affirming, real and pure magic to the ears...
Oh by the way it includes a really brilliant original take on Womack & Womack's 'Teardrops'.
