There are nice beaches in Africa

Last year What Ever We Want Records put out Map of Africa's 'Freaky Ways (Instrumental) /Gonna Ride' 12". I love 'Freaky Ways', it's undoubtedly Balearic, shimmers like some of the best Cure tracks and has all those tell tale Harvey dub elements. For those of you who don't know, Map of Africa is Harvey and Thomas Bullock of Rub 'n Tug. Some one, so succinctly , described them on Piccadilly as, 'trespassing on the Rock side of the Great Wall of Disco'. Perfect late night, all day, introspective bliss...

Love this record. Was speaking Rob White and he said that nobody in South Africa plays the cosmic stuff. I just sent him the link to your site.

BTW now I know who bought my copy of this from Piccadilly, you're on my shitlist now Chris. ;)

We're doing your mix-not-mix on Thursday.

allo allo - Rob's half right, most dont play it, few buy it, even i only drop stuff in between more 'acceptable' stuff, though I do spin lots of Disco, been thinking long and hard about starting a real free form night out here, but u know how it is - will anyone come??? anyway - Rob should invite me to spin, I'll sort them out ;)

Looking forward to the mix mate...

oh and PS - I wish it was me who bought that elusive copy of this 12"
