Edits of the week/month ??

Hands down the best set of edits to arrive in the mail in the last month is the Les Edits Du Golem set, 3 Cosmic Disco tracks with a whole bunch of eclectic flava's like Funk & Reggae, Eastern Sounds, Disco, Jazz & more all fuzed together in what are really genre defying beauties. Obviously this unknown producer has done some serious diggin' to come up with original material that is simultaneously unique and groove heavy, unknown and probably not western to begin with. 'Pyramide' is a midtempo killer item with Arabic vocals, if you're wondering 'Habibi' means 'My beloved', don't ask me how i know. Here's the deal, go and buy this, there are still a few copies around, use this link to Juno to get yours, besides it's gonna be quiet a few more pounds than it's currently available at in a years time, I simply can not recommend this ep more highly, every single track is deadly and essential!!!

Les Edits Du Golem - Pyramide

note: this wonderful track features in Jaz's fantastic 'Brubekk Love' mix - if you haven't checked it out yet you really should... get it here

The source track for Klout on the EP is Sunshine Baby by Clout, who are South African and apparently sold a million records in the late 70s/early 80s but I can't remember them as I was just born. Can you, Chris? The original beats the pants off the edit imo.

thats very interesting indeed, i do know them - i think my dad might have been a fan and ive seen their records around in the second hand stores, I always hated them, so i never looked any further, their big hit was 'substitute' - thanks for the heads up on that....
