So Different...

Fluid Ounce artist B.D.I put me onto this fine fine track. It featured on a fantastic mix he let me have a listen to, after I heard it I dropped by a collector of country, folk and tons of 70's stuff who is a good friend of mine, to check out if he had it, of course he did. So now I get to post it for you. 'It's So Different Here' comes from Rachel Sweet's 1978 Stiff Records album 'Fool Around'. Sweet just like her name, this undulating pastoral Pop/Folk groove is a crate classic if ever I heard one. Apparenty The Beatnuts sampled this some time back on a track of theirs, which I'm pretty sure I have somewhere, but I don't have time to go a hunting...

This track was covered back in the acid jazz era by a japanese/britsh group and was a huge underground hit..anybody remember the artist? the remake was pretty sweet!

What an incredible song! The Beatnuts sampled this for "We got The Funk", always wondered where the original sample was from.

yeah thats the beatnuts track - the original is insane - one of the coolest things i've come across this year, the rest of the album is a bizarre country pop kind of thing, but actually rather nice
