Edit my Lady

The Numero Group is one of the finest re-issue/diggers labels around at the moment, their Disco series of 12"s alone are essential for any groover or collector, you'll also find Soul & Funk of the same highest order on one of their offshoot labels. You can buy all their vinyl through their own rather good website which has news of digital tracks coming soon (if that's your sort of thing). I've wanted to post one of the takes of Sabata's 'Man for my Lady' for some time, but could never decide between the two edits on the b-side, one spacey dub and the other a vocal delight.

Apparently Sabata was a Brooklyn based bunch who put this out on the T.S.O.B. label, it was an alias for famed R'nb producer George Kerr. I'm giving you the vocal edit on the flip side, it's extremely catchy and very funky for sure. Now go and check out The Numero Group and take a peak and have a listen to their incredible collection of goodies...
