the main stem is coming...

If you've really been paying attention you might have heard a great loop track by The Main Stem on a mix I did for Ugly Talented, a little while back. I've been lucky enough to receive a stack of unreleased tracks by these guys over the last year or so, many of which I've used as secret weapons in sets, even their demo stuff. Initially The Main Stem seemed, to me, to be top graduates of the Noid/Idjut school of dubbed-up, rare Disco cut-ups (the requisite kitsch porno renaming of tracks included) and while they delve heavily in the dark art of re-fixes, they produce great original material also. Favouring mid-tempo and slo mo Disco & Cosmic sounds (although by no means exclusively) The Main Stem are all about thick hypnotic grooves and revisiting the origins of dance music; you'll hear Detroit, Acid, House & Italo influences, even Rock, put to work over their deep, hip churning, cycles of Disco funkyness.

The Stem have given A.N.O.E. this fantastic, freshly finished exclusive, which may or may not be coming out on Creative Uses in the near future. The fact is I know very little about their plans, but with an albums worth of greatness I'm certain you'll be getting to know much more about them, really soon. In the meantime download 'Life's a Yo Yo', a midtempo Italo yeti of a track. Thanks Rob and remember where you heard it first kids...
