I got a lovely mail from Adam from Pollyn who linked me to their recent ep 'Gave This Little Out Of Place' EP which features 3 original tracks plus remixes from Peter Visti, In Flagranti and Time & Space Machine, along with an edit they'd done of Paul Simon's '50 Ways To Leave Your Lover'. The Ep is pretty interesting with each of these heavyweight remixers adding to this LA collective's Electronic Pop sounds, in exactly the ways you'd imagine; Visti turns them into Balearic dreamers, Time & Space add psyche echoes & trippy atmosphere's, while In Flagranti get their choppers out to slice 'n dice their track 'Falling Out Of Place' into a disco friendly groover. Apparently Pollyn have remixed a bunch of people including Liquid Liquid & Gorillaz. It's the edit I love though; having chopped out the more uptempo parts of the track, added some great instrumentation and dubbed out some of the parts, Pollyn have made an excellent refreshed version. Lovely late night 'unlove' grooves...
