Deeper & Deeper

Barry White written, Kellee Patterson sung, 'I'm Gonna Love You Just a Little Bit More', comes off her 1976 debut album called 'Kellee' on Shadybrook. It's schmaltzy, its Barry White penned after all, which, to some, will mean everything and sure I like some of his tracks; Love Unlimited's 'Move Me No Mountain' is one of my personal favourites, but the star of this beauty is Kellee, no doubt. This album opener kind of got lost in the mix of things and when the album was re-release in 1996, this was the track that found a new audience and became a cult classic. Sometimes I can't help but wonder just how many lost classics there are, and with so many new ones being made every week, you just have to be grateful for those who really know music and it's fantastic history. Keep keepin' on.

her cover of the O-Jays "I Love Music" also on Shadybrook is divine and a nice opener for a disco set.
